The Siren Scene is a cultural marketing and curatorial studio rooted in New Bedford, Massachusetts, highlighting exceptional artists locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. The platform highlights exceptional artists whose work demonstrates strong craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and compelling concepts. Through editorial features, strategic campaigns, exhibitions, media content, and public programming, The Siren Scene connects artists and cultural organizations with broader audiences while strengthening the creative ecosystems that support the arts.
Curious Figure 3
Curious Figure 3 was a national juried exhibition organized by The Siren Scene and presented at the historic Star Store in downtown New Bedford. Featuring 52 works representing artists from 38 cities across 21 states, the exhibition explored the human figure as a site of craftsmanship, structure, storytelling, cultural awareness, and material expression.
Through the exhibition, public receptions, awards, online auction, and official catalogue, Curious Figure 3 connected artists with audiences and collectors while contributing to the renewed cultural activity surrounding the Star Store.
Building on that momentum, Curious Figure 4 is now in development, continuing The Siren Scene’s commitment to presenting ambitious figurative work and creating meaningful opportunities for artists from across the country.
Origin Story
Founded by Kat Knutsen in 2014, The Siren Scene was created to champion artists, organizations, and small businesses producing work with skill, originality, and cultural impact. Drawing from an MFA in painting, more than a decade of teaching visual arts and digital media, work on the Oscar-nominated Loving Vincent, and large-scale public mural projects, Kat brings the perspective of an artist, educator, curator, and cultural strategist.
Relaunched in 2024 with a sharper vision, The Siren Scene now connects high-quality creative work with broader audiences through editorial features, exhibitions, strategic campaigns, media production, and public programming.
